CHAONS
About Christophe CHAONS
Background
Christophe CHAONS was born in Melun, Seine-et-Marne, on September 28, 1991.
After his parents' divorce, he was raised by his mother, aunt, and grandmother from the age of four. It was then that his path led him to Orléans, where he grew up in a matriarchal environment that helped him develop his sensitivity. The close bond Christophe shared with his mother was complemented by the mysticism of his aunt, a true spiritual figure who would leave a lasting mark on the artist.

Christophe is 5 years old. Or maybe 6. He's alone in his room, unable to sleep. Instead, inspired, he sketches graffiti on the walls. This intuitive gift for drawing is something Christophe cultivates and develops, until it intensifies during his adolescence.
During his time between the 2010 and 2012 baccalaureate exams, Christophe Chaons studied at the Institute of Visual Arts in Orléans and began taking art classes outside of school. He experimented with life drawing, observational drawing, sketching… Academicism, mixed media, and still lifes then became part of his daily life as an artist.
With his baccalaureate in hand, he went to Paris and began a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the Sorbonne, at the Saint-Charles Center. The budding artist started producing his work at a more intense pace, thriving in the independence of his Parisian studio-bedroom. While acquiring unprecedented autonomy, Christophe listened to his intuition, which told him he had finally found his place.
Christophe Chaons developed his artistic interest in symbolism and began to transfigure reality in his works. His studies in visual arts introduced him to abstraction, with some early experiments in dripping. He honed his adaptability and experimented with new techniques, such as digital art. Art history allowed him to discover Surrealism and Dadaism, movements that inspired him and suggested future works.
From 2013 onwards, the artist began a work of generating computer images. Retouched self-portraits, creation of filters bordering on surrealism, staging of a theatrical character, reinterpretation of the Self…He then anchored himself in the journey of his alter ego, the one he calls the Universe Traveler, a character situated “between past eras and contemporary society, one foot in cyber, another in gothic, and the spirit in futurism with Science Fiction”, questioning his humanity and his origin during initiatory journeys.
The artist's work explores temporality and the blurring of boundaries between reality and fantasy. Her visual art blends with digital techniques, resulting in a hybrid and unconventional style—a reflection of her own artistic vision. The artist questions technology and the presence of Artificial Intelligence in a constantly evolving body of work.
A perpetual dreamer, Christophe Chaons sees himself as a creator of worlds. An ambassador of universal art, his metaphysical and philosophical vision aims to be synonymous with sharing by touching the essence of humanity. The artist works with paradoxes: heaven opposes earth only to better unite it, anarchy responds to harmony, the energy of chaos transforms into the force of change…
"Harmony is born from chaos."
