The Circles series allows the artist to explore the symbolic theme of black holes. Evocative of both the Big Bang and the cosmos, they are also associated with the concepts of memory and the mind for Christophe Chaons. These circles and spirals combine diverse techniques, blending spray paint, oil paint, India ink, and sometimes sugar, resulting in a black and white effect punctuated with chrome. Through his circles, the artist evokes primordial Chaos. Indeed, most of his works begin with a hole, creating a central concentric circle, like a portal. Solar and lunar eclipses, shifts between worlds, cosmic phenomena… Christophe Chaons connects these concepts to his artistic exploration of Chaos. The artist has maintained a special relationship with circles since his youth. An attraction that can be explained by his fascination with the stars and planets, markers of a ritualized and spiritual daily life.
